Several agencies were working an operation in Jackson last night when a manhunt was begun for a wanted felon who fled from police near Highway 80 Tuesday night.
Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said to his knowledge, Jackson Police Departmennt took several violent offenders into custody on during that operation. They were assisted by Hinds County, Madison County, and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.
Early reports said several people were shot during the operation, but Jones said that he’s not sure where that information came from.
“Nobody was shot, no shots were fired,” he said.
He said when one offender ran from police, it began a manhunt. In the end, that suspect was not apprehended.
