1 dead, 1 in custody after shooting on casino floor in Biloxi

A man is under arrest in Biloxi after police say he shot another man on the casino floor at the Golden Nugget.

According to the Biloxi Police Department, received multiple 911 calls about a man shooting a pistol inside the Golden Nugget Casino on Friday around 12:56 am. Callers indicated a man was shot and the suspect fled the scene on foot.

Officers responded to the area and found a suspect armed with a pistol in the area of the Biloxi Bay Bridge. At the casino, the scene was cleared and police located a man suffering from multiple gunshot wound‘s. They administered first aid, but the victim died on scene.

Police say Jereme Lamond Jones of Mobile, Alabama, and the 41-year-old victim from Gulfport were fighting outside the casino. Jones allegedly chased the victim into the casino, where Jones allegedly fired multiple close-range shots at the victim on the gaming floor.

No one else was injured during the fight and authorities don’t know if Jones and the Victim knew each other, or what led them to fight.

Jones was ultimately charged with 1st degree murder and transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center with a $1,000,000 bond imposed by Harrison County Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain.
