One person is dead after two separate shootings that took place in Jackson Tuesday before 8 a.m.
Derrick Robinson, 40, is dead after being shot on Silas Brown Street and Handy Avenue around 6:30 a.m., officials said.
He was found lying on the ground when police arrived on the scene.
There is someone being questioned by investigators at this point, but so far police have not developed a clear suspect.
The second shooting was on Prentiss Street sometime around 7:30 a.m. Police say a woman was allegedly shot in the leg by her boyfriend, who fled after the incident. Her condition is not clear.
