An out-of-state couple is behind bars after refusing to stop for police and damaging a building and multiple police units.
Police say the incident began Sunday when Flowood police tried to pull over a car for several traffic violations. The driver refused to pull over at Flowood Drive and Liberty Road and struck a building as it escaped.
Officers continued to follow the car, which then rammed a Flowood police car and fled towards Pear.
Pearl Police Department and the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department joined the pursuit, and the suspect ended up hitting another Flowood police car as well as a Pearl police car. Finally, he was taken into custody inside the Pearl city limits.
Police say Labarion Manuel of Winnsboro, Louisiana has been charged with felony fleeing, felony aggravated assault on a police officer, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Also arrested was his passenger, Larika Wolfe, of Hempstead, Texas. She is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Both suspects are in the Rankin County Jail without bond.
