Jackson Police are investigating a shooting that happened last night at approximately 11:50 pm. a Covington Park Dr. in Jackson.

Police said a man named Jadamian Marquez Nichols was shot and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Another victim was shot and transported to a local hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

Investigators recovered several shell casings from the scene and are still gathering evidence and information.

Witnesses stated approximately 4-5 black males wearing light-colored clothing armed with long guns fled the scene on foot after the shooting occurred.
