That gloomy sky you’re looking at this Monday morning will last throughout the day and probably the rest of the week, according to the National Weather Service.
According to NWS meteorologist Janae Elkins, showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast again today through early afternoon to early evening. A few of those storms could be strong to severe with gusty winds, but the highest risk of that is particularly in northeast Louisiana and southeast Arkansas.
High temperatures may be up to 86 or 87 degrees in the Metro area, “back in summertime patterns,” Elkins said.
The rain and possible thunderstorms will continue through the week, primarily during peak heating hours.
