One person was killed in a wreck Sunday around 11 p.m. on Interstate 59 in Hattiesburg.
According to Hattiesburg police, the crash happened near the 63-mile marker in the southbound lanes just south of Hardy Street.
A Honda Accord was driving southbound when it hit an abandoned Toyota 4Runner on the side of the interstate, which caused an 18-wheeler to also wreck.
The 18-wheeler went off the road into the trees and caught fire. The driver was deceased at the scene and one person from the Honda was transported to a hospital for injuries.
The southbound right lane side of I-59 is still closed while police work to clear the scene.
Traffic is moving in the left lane.
