A 16-year-old in Yazoo County was arrested in a recent murder investigation.
On January 10, Sheriff Jeremy “Bull” McCoy and a dedicated team of 6 deputies collaborated with Canton Police to ensure the safety of Yazoo County High School.
At 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Yazoo County deputies assisted in the arrest of a 16-year-old suspect who was wanted by Canton police for murder.
In response to this operation, Chief Williams of Yazoo County Schools briefly placed Yazoo County High School on restricted movement to help keep the community safe.
The teenager was arrested without incident.
The juvenile is now in the custody of Canton Police Department.
