Lee County authorities say they are investigating a homicide that was discovered on Thursday.

Sheriff Jim Johnson said in a release that around 8:21 a.m. Thursday, dispatch received a call about a car stuck in a ditch on CR 1438.

When deputies arrived, they found a dead man in the vehicle. Investigators responded and processed the scene. Further investigation revealed that an incident occurred at a house down the road from where the vehicle and the victim were found.

While a cause of death was not released, Sheriff Johnson says more information will be released as it’s available.
