20-Year-Old Arrested and Charged With Murder In Gulfport Shooting

A man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault in relations to a shooting that happened at Emerald Pines Apartments in Gulfport on Tuesday morning.

Makhari Seven Gasaway, 20, is being held without bond at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.

The victim of the shooting, Brushawn Shawmayne McClam, 27, was shot multiple times during the confrontation and died at the scene.

McClam’s sister was also involved in the altercation and was shot.

She was taken to the hospital after the incident, but her exact condition has not yet been released.

Authorities report that a fight broke out between Gasaway and McClam, and Gasaway pulled out a gun and started shooting.

Several other family members were in the apartment at the time of the shooting, including the victims’ brother, their mother and two children. Nobody other than the two gunshot victims were physically injured by Gasaway.
