Just off from the iconic swinging bridge in Byram, the annual Swinging Bridge Festival was held this weekend at the Jackson Dragway.

The Festival hosted rides, carnival games, vendors, live music, a car show, and fireworks.

Shemeka Quinn, a first time guest, was enjoying the evening with her family.

“I’m getting ready to watch them ride the scariest ride to them, but they love it. They are here to meet their friends.” said Quinn.

The event was organized by the City of Byram and has had a long history in the city.

Byram Mayor Richard White said “When we got to be a city 13 years ago, we took it over about 12 years ago. The business people turned it over to us, but they are still involved…So, We started to have the Swinging Bridge Festival and we’ve had some good success.”
