Traffic is still backed up on I-20 after two 18-wheelers and a passenger vehicle collided in the westbound lanes of the interstate on Thursday.
According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation, the accident resulted in a fuel spill and fire, forcing a shutdown of the WB side of I-20 near Exit 68 in Rankin County. Officials are detouring traffic onto Hwy 80 at the Morton exit.
Pelahatchie Chief Richard Mahaffey said there were minor injuries on one driver, but that everyone escaped from the wreck safely.
