A Leakesville woman’s Alabama home was demolished after a construction company mistook it for the one they were supposed to be tearing down.
WKRG reports that Jennifer Pulliam found out that her childhood home was gone when a family member called her after seeing the story on the news. The home that had been in her family since the 1960s. And now she knows who knocked it down. A local construction company who had the wrong home.
“I cried for two days,” Pulliam told WKRG. “I was devastated.”
The owner of the construction company allegedly owned up to the mistake when he was contacted by Mobile police.
Pulliam said she won’t name the company for legal reasons, but that there’s a lawsuit forthcoming. She said settling on a figure will be hard, because “that house, to me, is priceless.”
The construction company still has not reached out to Pulliam about the mistake.
