According to the Jackson Police Department an arrest has been made in the homicide of 42-year-old Corey Dixon.

Authorities say Stanisha Williams, 32, is accused of shooting Dixon Sunday morning on Monument Street in Jackson. She is the mother of his child.

Numerous witness on scene advised that a suspect was riding in a blue SUV, driven by Stanisha Williams, with another unknown black male and female in the vehicle. Witnesses said Dixon and Williams had a fight before Dixon was shot.

Dixon was transported to The University of Mississippi Medical Center and was rushed into surgery, listed in critical condition with life threatening injuries.

On Monday, Corey Dixon died of his injuries. Through the investigation, Williams was determined by police to be the alleged shooter and has been taken to jail.
