The body of a man reported missing in Flowood has been recovered, police said.
On August 17, 21-year-old Davion Holmes from Indianola, was reported missing after leaving Merit Health River Oaks Hospital in Flowood.
Since that time, officers from the Flowood Police Department, along with local agencies, have been actively investigating the case and conducting searches in the surrounding area.
On Sunday, officers responding to a call discovered a body in a lake located near the hospital. The body has been identified as the missing 21-year-old. The family has been notified.
The cause of death is under investigation, and the body has been transported to the Mississippi State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy. At this time, no foul play is suspected; however, the investigation remains ongoing.
The Flowood Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of the young man during this difficult time.
